Saint Soldier on Farmer Suicides

Vancouver-based hip hop artist Saint Solider and singer Sukhraj recently released a moving single about farmer suicides in Punjab.  I won’t editorialize, as the song (and video) speaks for itself.  You can download the track on iTunes and by donation at bandcamp.

I think we must have a "Suicide prevention programme " in place.:—

Let the population of punjab be made to simulate the crisis thru which these boys under go before they commit suicide for one week /month each year .

This could be called "Suicide simulation drill month"

We will have two set of responses in this simulation exercise

    1) some who will choose life and
    2) some who will choose death .

Then identify factors which makes the group to choose life over death and then

adopt those factors for healing or teaching those who choose death as a answer to the lifes problems

Any smarter plans can also be adopted by the friends /philosopher /guides /Psychiatrists

suicide prevention interventions are a good idea, but until the root(s) of the problem (poverty, debt and desperate conditions brought on by big agrobusiness) is addressed directly, little will change. good npr story on the effects of the "green revolution": http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?stor
