Obamas Chance To Make The Change

Barack Hussein Obamas historic victory as the 44th President of the United States Of America is being celebrated not only in America, but across the world.

He said in his victory speech that:

This victory alone is not the change we seek. It is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were.
It can’t happen without you, without a new spirit of service, a new spirit of sacrifice.
So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility, where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.

Thus, I leave you with a BBC news clip on how the World is reacting to Obamas win. As people celebrate across the world, they also offer what they believe this chance for change means for American foreign relations!

Also, here is a clip of Maya Angelou’s reflection on Obamas victory. Her inspirational words during an interview on the CBS Early Show capture the meaning of Obamas victory for Americans. (Side note: You can fast forward to 3:11 for Maya Angelous interview, but I recommend watching the entire report. It highlights the history that Obamas victory builds off that makes this historic moment so preciously significant.)
