We spoke to Pranav to find out more about his experiment and interest in the competition.

TLH: How did you get involved with this competition?

PS: I was on Google doing research for a homework assignment when on Google’s homepage I saw an advertisement for SpaceLab, and after watching the videos on the SpaceLab channel I wanted to submit an experiment.

TLH: How did you decide on this specific experiment?

PS: So originally in October I had an experiment dealing with embryonic development in space, but this idea was not feasible in space. Through consulting with teachers and science professors I evolved my idea to something that still tested what I had originally wanted and met all of the parameters set out by the SpaceLab competition. From the beginning I knew my experiment would deal with genetics because that was something I was currently learning in AP Biology at the time.

TLH: What are your long term goals?

PS: When I am older I wish to pursue a career in the biology field. I hope to someday engineer alternative fuels that could replace the gasoline and fossil fuels currently used to drive our world.

TLH: Is there anything you’d like to share with our readers?

PS: I would like to share that this experiment personally means a lot to me and with Waheguru’s support I hope I can win.
