OT

Can any here at the site do a post on the outrageous lavisih wedding of Bikram Singh Majithia and why the People ( tax payers) pay for it ( through security cost provided to the V.I.Ps).

There is a huge difference between "Karni" and "Kathani". The govt. tells people to cut down on lavish weddings so that aam adami (common folk) does not feel pressured to give more in dowry and that girls are not considered burden. What can you expect from govts in India. Total break down of ETHICS. They even control the Akal thakt jathedar and SGPC. Every time I read a newspaper from India, I feel sick in my stomach.

Great article Sundari -- I think we are beginning to take note, as a panth, that we such potential. We do have to support Sikh events but we also have to do a better job at exposing non-Sikhs to these things. Were there many non Sikhs at the event? In particular school teachers who play a large role in educating youth about these issues.
