Very Sad News: Ishmeet Singh Passes Away
Ishmeet Singh, the winner of the “Voice of India” contest, passed away today after drowning in a hotel swimming pool in the Maldives. He was the only son of his parents, and was set to perform at an event in Maldives capital. Such a tragic story and such a great loss for the Punjabi community.
Ishmeet had been vocal about his intent to encourage Sikh youth to step out of the shadows and achieve their dreams.
This talented Sikh turned out to be very humble, polite, and caring. His idea on winning rested in the ultimate sense to have faith in Waheguru wholeheartedly. He is an idol to many young Sikhs all around the world and he can inspire and motivate young Sikh men and women to succeed in life without compromising their values and traditions under any pressure whatsoever. While interviewing him, he very clearly said to me that in future he would do everything in his power to help Sikh youth with talent to step out of the shadow.
His Shabad Kirtan CD had just been released and many were hoping to see the beginning of a wonderful journey for Ishmeet. He will be greatly missed.

This is so shocking, how could it be possible, he couldn’t of died in a swimming pool by drowning.Shouldn’t there been some lifeguard or atleast someone to help him and that resort is suppose to be one of the best. Just how could it be possible this should be investigated. I give simpathy to all of Ishmeeths family, friends and fans i am really sorry and would of hope to ishmeeth that he could of gone really far in life but i guess this is where it ends.

I agree with Zoyya above. How could this happen? We need many more details. It really must be investigated.
My condolences especially to his family, and also to all of us who now won’t have the chance to watch him grow and develop both as an entertainer and as a Sikh role model.
Sometimes the hukam of Vaheguru is hard to understand.
Sometimes it is hard to remain in chardi kala.
But we are Sikhs. We accept the hukam of Vaheguru without anger or bitterness. We remain in chardi kala.
Still…how very sad.

Very shocking, just hard to believe. Drowning in a pool in a five star resort is just unheard of, was there nobody around him considering that he was a celebrity. I think there is foul play and this must be investigated in its totality.

Ishmeet’s untimely death is very shocking and sad news for all noble hearts. “I have some big projects lined up. And I am happy that God has put me on right path. Soon I will take a big leap and go high.” Said Ishmeet Singh talking to TOI at Chandigarh never knew that what is big leap and high in store for him? Here we are helpless and have to surrender to HIS wishes as who can chant (God’s) knowledge whose study is arduous. The demand of an inquiry into the drowning accident as to know what were the circumstances leading to his death took place so suddenly and carelessly is genuine at least in order to take preventive measures for the future blossoming stars of any field like him. Such an inquiry is a need of hour along with praying that God bless his soul. A few words expressed for the gem on his very sorrowful untimely death especially for the consolation of his parents and other family members by Balbir Singh Sooch, his family and friends.

Our heartfelt condolences to his bereaved parents and relatives of Ludhiana.
I was in ardent fan and shall remain so.

One can hardly believe about the sudden demise of the young, talented, honest and soft spoken voice of Punjab, voice of INDIA—ISHMEET.
It was horrifying to see in the news abt the sudden death due to drowining.I remember one instance while the telecast of VOI,his parents were invited on the show and his mother was asked about the unforgetable moments of Ishmeet, his mother told that during his childhood he never liked to have bath as he was SCARED of Water. And see his destiny, his demise occured due to water.
Its a great loss to the entire Sikh Community,India,Singh family and to many fans of sweet Ishmeet.May his soul rest in peace in heaven up there and Waheguru shower the strength to his family to such a great shock.

Hey there guys, this is what i found about Ishmeet’s death. HE WAS SWIMMING IN A PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL, exactly why there was no one around. The hotel’s management had warned Ishmeet, Sumitra and Vyom to stay away from the main pool since none of them knew how to swim. Ishmeet was quite impressed of the beauty of the resort and was overheard telling Sumitra that he would stay in the Maldives if he got a job there. He went off on his own to the children’s swimming pool where the water was shallow. However, he jumped into the main swimming pool even after warnings from the management. The hotel people quickly took him to a nearby hospital from a boat but unfortunately he died before reaching the hospital……. - this is what i HEARD so far, i’ll try to keep you fans updated. May his soul rest in peace -

The Sikh community has suffered a huge loss! Ishmeet Singh was a gem of a man and inspired many young people to get in touch with their spiritual side. He was in Bangkok a few weeks ago and made a huge impact on the Thai Sikh youth when he sang in the Gurudwara here. My heart goes out to his parents and I can only hope that the faith he had was instilled in him by his parents. Only Waheguru knows the pain they must be going through right now. We all need to remember :
??????? ???? ????? ???? ???? ???? ?????
May Waheguru help us to accept His Bhana and may Ishmeet Singh rest at Waheguru’s feet in eternal peace.

It is difficult to let go of our mourning but what is the use? We all have to go one day, everyting you see will perish. Why waste time mourning what has happened is in accord to the Hukam of Guru ji, spend time uplifting in moral and noble deed, so one day when you shall perish you shall be ordained to merge with Vaheguru. Let go of his accomplishments and first see if he has progressed spiritually, if not he shall suffer the cycle of life which the human body is so ardous to obtain, as the ripe fruit that has fallen shall never go back whence it has spawned, so shall this body. Death is hovering over the head and is gleefully counting our breaths which we use for the pursuit of worldly entities, it is all useless, only our sins and actions will acount for Guru Ji’s court, no worldly titles shall be present, only Guru’s word. I just hope Guruji will feel pity for this Singh and breath life to him as a human so he may rid of his debt to the Guru and attain Sachkhand.

Who will answer??? Ishmeet Singh! A young singer star voice of India and like him in any field! You were not alone to go unattended minus politics and list is endless and continues….!!! Is the news meant for a damage covering up tactics on behalf of and for Akalis? Does the planted leadership of Sikhs free to exercise their political Will? Is the leadership to do anything with national interest or Sikhs? Do the Akalis have any ideology except to fulfill their own greed at the costs of Sikhs? Are the so-called opponents of Congress not having close social relations with Congress? Did the Akalis enjoy their silence and Sikhs suffered endlessly in independent India? Do Sikhs aware of the chain and reasons responsible for their misfortune? Could Sikhs hope anyone likely to come forward for their justice in India? Do Sikhs always to remain sandwich between Centre power and opposition in India? Has international community any plan to attend such leaderless people in the World? Cry for justice- Are Sikhs capable to get solved the questions? Submission by Balbir Singh Sooch, Advocate, Ludhiana- July 31, 2008-News- Trust Vote-
SAD proposed walk-out, Advani overruled it. Had the BJP leadership acted on the advice of senior SAD leaders and walked out of the House shortly before voting on the confidence motion in Parliament on July 22, it would have saved itself and NDA partners from humiliation after the UPA victory. Sources said SAD MP and leader of the Parliamentary group of the party in the Lok Sabha Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and SAD president and MP Sukhbir Singh Badal had approached BJP leader L.K. Advani after the issue of currency notes rocked the House. Both SAD leaders, the sources said, had told Advani that the NDA MPs should walk out from the House on the issue of bribing MPs and not take part in the voting on confidence motion. The sources said Dhindsa and Sukhbir had told Advani it appeared to be difficult to defeat the UPA on the floor of the House as almost all Muslim leaders, who were expected to oppose the Manmohan Singh government, had come to his support. Senior Muslim leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, including Omar Abdullah, whose speech made a significant impact in the House, had supported the UPA government. And same was done by some other Muslim MPs. The NDA and the Left-led front was banking on Muslim MPs because they had a feeling that Muslim MPs could vote against the UPA government owing to the factoring in of America in the nuclear deal. However, it did not happen. “If Advani had acted on the advice of SAD leaders, the NDA would have saved itself from the demoralisation it faced after failing to remove the UPA government,” said a senior Akali leader. Advani rejected the suggestion given by SAD MPs and told them that all NDA constituents should stay in the House to vote against the Manmohan government. Seven SAD MPs voted against the UPA as Advani and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had asked them to so.

when i read the news yesterday i felt these guys must be joking!! though i was never a regular at VOI but whenever i watched this simple boy i was touched..a simpilicity..a gentle soul..a perfect angel..his voice held purity of water…which could take any form! since yesterday i have been glued to TV and i still dont understand how can this happen? a gentleman mentions it was a private pool….but when authorities knew he could not swim….why did they even allow him near it??
whatever the cause may be a young boy life gone and he has left his family in shambles….and a person like me who has never met him or knew him shattered with this death.
when someone told me a trite phrase that maybe God needs good people!!!……….I asked them one thing……IN TODAY’S WORLD WITH SO MUCH PAIN AND STRIFE IN OUR LIFE IT IS WE WHO NEED GOOD PEOPLE ON THIS EARTH TO MAKE US RETAIN FAITH IN LIFE AND GOD!!
May god bless his family in this hour!!!

Its very much shocking new for me and my family, because we have seen his shows on Star Voice of India and for us as a Pakistani TV channels are the only way to see India’s people. His death in very young age is unbeleiveable. May God give rest to his soul and give patience to his family as he is onle son. He will remain in our prayers and memories because his innocent personality is unforgetable. We love his voice and his cute smile. Again its a very hard news but no one can change the reallities of life. He is really unforgetable and we’ll miss him so much.

Where were Ishmeet’s friends at the funeral?’ The destructive jealousy factor might be one of the reasons of the planned and created circumstances leading to the death of Ishmeet Singh can not be ruled out so lightly. We should not forget that an innocent child could be used in such planned and created circumstances, knowing very well that so and so would surely behave in the fashion under the circumstances which are always meant for his death and so on under the different similar cases of conspiracy. Moreover, the colleagues of Ishmeet in the interview on the day were looking suspicious and tutored judging by their body language, face culture and they only said in the interview whatever they might be tutored to say legally. Mika rightly said, “Only Abhijeet dada and Hans Raj Hans were present at the funeral. Where were Ishmeet’s friends and colleagues from various shows? Was the absence of friends and colleagues only to avoid the exposure of as to what extent the destructive jealousy factor obviously running against Ishmeet Singh for causing his death used for interview in the manner as a cover up or only their absence for the security reasons would be the pet reply suiting under the circumstances? Mika’s query is not without substance a
